Malcolm Strachan makes the move to NASCAR with Jim Bray Autosport
On August 30th, 4-time Ontario and Quebec sports car champion Malcolm Strachan will be making his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut in Montreal in the AUTOPRO 100. He will be piloting the #49 Dodge Avenger, run by Jim Bray Autosport, out of Brantford, Ontario.
The 25-year-old Strachan is really excited to take his career in this new direction. “This will easily be the biggest race of my career, so far” he said. “NASCAR is definitely the biggest force in motorsports in North America, and to be a part of the Canadian Tire Series’ biggest race is going to be an amazing opportunity. I am hoping to have a smooth race that weekend with a good, solid finish. A top-10 finish is my goal for the weekend.” This will be Strachan’s first race on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, in Montreal. The title sponsor for the #49 Dodge will be announced one week before the race.
Practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday, August 29th, with the race on Sunday morning, August 30th. For more information on the Montreal NASCAR race, visit http://www.circuitgillesvilleneuve.ca/en/
